James Palmer & The Prophets is a highly skilled group drawing on over 130 years combined playing experience in the Australian Music Scene.
Led by Drummer/Vocalist James Palmer, the band prides itself on its exceptional professionalism, enthusiasm and ability to entertain any audience. Guy, Greg, James & Gary (left to right above) are all highly proficient and knowledgeable musicians, with their number 1 interest being satisfaction for the listener - helping set this band apart from many others in the cover band scene.

James’ experience as a live/session musician, educator & audio engineer in the Gold Coast/Brisbane & Northern Rivers music scene's allow him to form the crux of this crowd pleasing cover band. James actively plays for numerous artists up and down the East Coast of Australia including: Jake Whittaker, Todd Robinson, EPIC & Josh King to name a few. Currently working closely with other notable Australian musicians and groups, James’ musicianship combined with his audio engineering ability allow the JPP to put on a highly musical and visually spectacular performance.
On keyboards and backing vocals is Gary Pinkerton, who has performed both in Australia and around the world as a live and session musician alongside and for acts such as: Sherbet, Joe Camilleri, The Cockroaches, Stan and Natalie Wood. Gary is currently the President of NCEIA (North Coast Entertainment Industry Association) and runs the independent ‘NCEIA Dolphin Music Awards’ each year. His musical passion and proficiency on keyboards shine through in the JPP and he is able to add a huge amount of diversity to the repertoire.
Hailing from Sydney, Guy Dutton on lead vocals and guitar adds exceptional experience and finesse to the band. Guy who has played for artists such as: Phil Emmanuel, Marcia Hines, Country Gold & Hired Hands, brings a broad range of styles to the band including: easy listening jazz, blues, pop hits and dance tunes. His versatility as a guitarist showcases some amazing face melting solos and subtle velvet rhythms.
Filling out the low end on bass guitar and vocals is Greg Strong, who has played in Northern Rivers based bands since the 80’s. Greg the Groove Master's solid and consistent approach will have the audience feeling the funk in all of the JPP songs. Strongy is acclaimed for his ability to play in any situation and always provide an outstanding performance. Together with the other two Prophets, he is able to combine his wisdom and lock down the groove.
